Winter Postal Competition – results

Well done everyone who did ROM’s during the indoor season – these counted towards our Winter Postal rankings and the final results are now in.

We started off in division 2 … and ended up in division 2 🙂

After chatting with some members over the last few weeks, I have come to realise that not everyone knows all the details around this competition that we enter – so I’ll be making sure you all have more information on in the future!

Congratulations to Denis O’Gara though for having not 1 but 2 entries in the final month’s “special” scores:

  • Highest made score for a bare bow
  • Top handicap adjusted score (all bow types)

The final placings across all divisions are:

Longbow Championships (June 20th)

Please note that the English & Open Senior Longbow Championships have now been announced. Unfortunately it’s on the same day as our own Tom Robbins charity shoot! For more details though should you want to enter then please see this link.

** UPDATE **
The date of the charity shoot has now been confirmed as the 27th June – so it no longer clashes! 🙂

Want to do the Lichfield Interclub Challenge?

The latest list of people wanting to shoot in this competition is available here

Please email tournament@chasearchers.org.uk letting me know which discipline you want to shoot if you wish to add your name – thanks!

Early outdoors – please read!

After some discussion we are trying something different this year with regard to going outdoors. In the past we’ve had perfectly nice sunny days early in the year when it would have been great to shoot outdoors but if we had, the school would have charged us for both indoors and outdoors. However, after talking to the school they have very kindly agreed to let us have the option – I.E. we can plan to shoot outdoors but if the weather is bad or generally not suitable then we will have access to the sports hall to go back indoors again. We will therefore attempt to do outdoor shoots on Sundays only (Fridays will be too dark) from the 1st March onwards.

Because of this though and the need to finish off some indoors shoots (the last round of the Postal competition and the Tony Woodward Trophy shoot) we have had to amend the calendar for March – please make sure that you review it (here) to make sure you know what we are doing when and where 🙂

IronMan results (updated)

UPDATE:

AIUK have now released the overall results – and it’s great news for Chase Archers - Martin Robinson has come 3rd in the Recurve Freestyle category and Michael Bass has come 3rd in the Compound Unlimited category …… a hearty “well done” guys 🙂
